Lady Gaga is still in stupid love with fiancé Michael Polansky.
It’s been nearly two years since the Silicon Valley bigwig proposed to the pop star after a rock climbing trip on April Fools Day 2024. “I thought he was joking,” she admitted to Graham Norton after confirming the news months later. He wasn’t, but the pair had to put wedding plans on the back burner as Gaga prepared for the release of her sixth studio album, Mayhem, and its subsequent world tour.
And yet their big day may be coming up in 2026, according to a recent update. Here’s Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky’s complete relationship timeline, with the most recent news up top.
2026
March 6, 2026: Lady Gaga tells Bruno Mars the wedding is coming up “soon” during his Romantic Radio livestream. “Me and my fiancé have been traveling all year, but we’re getting married soon,” she told Mars in a special message shared on iHeart Radio’s Instagram page. “We were hoping you could choose a special song for us.”
For his part, Mars recommended “Risk It All” off his new album, The Romantic.

2025
November 13: In a cover interview with Rolling Stone, Gaga says she and Polansky talk about their wedding “all the time,” adding that it’s “tempting” to get married during any given break in their schedule.
“We don’t want a really big wedding, but we want to enjoy it,” Polansky added in the same interview. “In a lot of ways, we already feel married, so it’s not like it’s gonna change much.”
March 8: Gaga shares more about that life-changing phone call with her mother during her Saturday Night Live opening monologue. “My mom called me one day, and she goes, ‘I met your husband,’” Gaga recalled. “And I said, ‘What does he do?’ And she said, ‘He works in cancer research.’”
Gaga said she was “literally smoking a cigarette” during that call, adding, “and then we went on three dates and I never smoked again.… Except when I’m drunk.”
Polansky later accompanied Gaga to the SNL after-party at L’Avenue in New York City.

March 5, 2025: While promoting her new album, Mayhem, on Good Morning America, Gaga reveals they spoke about marriage and kids on their very first date.
“I wanted marriage and kids more than anything,” Gaga said. “Michael flew to Vegas when I was doing my show to take me on our first date and before we even sat down, I said, ‘Do you want marriage and kids?’ And he goes, ‘Yeah, I do.’ And I said, ‘Okay, great, do you want some champagne?’ And he said, ‘Sure.’”
She continued, “I think I wanted him to know that I was a family girl.”
Gaga gushed about Polansky throughout the interview, saying, “He just loves the whole me. I learn a lot from him. He’s so supportive. He’s got an incredibly kind heart. He’s my best friend. Being in a partnership with your best friend I feel like is a huge blessing. I couldn’t imagine going through life with anyone but him, honestly.”
The pop star also revealed Polansky helps her write music and that “he includes me in his business as well.” She continued, “He’s really creative. He plays guitar. He’s a really beautiful musician as well. We have a really creative relationship. My album’s called Mayhem, but it’s also kaç to be in the mayhem with someone else.”

October 2: Gaga isn’t mühlet what kind of wedding she will throw with Polansky; “We actually talk about going to the courthouse just the two of us and ordering Chinese food,” Gaga says on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Then again, she added, “Knowing me, also, it could become like a circus with unicorns.”
September 5: Gaga opens up about her relationship with Polansky in Vogue’s October cover story, including their first few years living in relative “normalcy” during the pandemic, after they first met in December 2019. The pair connected over their shared loves, including “music, science, and arka,” Gaga said.
Gaga also admitted that it was Polansky who convinced her that her next venture, an album that will drop in February 2025, should be pop. “Michael is the person who told me to make a new pop record,” she said. “He was like, ‘Babe. I love you. You need to make pop music.’”
September 3: The couple makes their red-carpet debut at the Venice Sinema Şenlik premiere of her sinema, Joker: Folie a Deux. Polansky, dressed in a tuxedo, looked lovingly at Gaga, who was dressed to the nines in a Christian Dior Haute Couture gown and lace Philip Treacy headpiece.
Once again her massive oval-cut diamond was ready for the cameras. The private couple was clearly making a statement with their very public display of their commitment to one another.
September 2: Several weeks after confirming their engagement, Lady Gaga and Michael Polansky step out together at the Venice Sinema Şenlik, where Gaga flashed her gargantuan engagement ring for the first time.
July 29: Gaga finally reveals that the pair are indeed engaged…maybe without meaning to? After a dazzling performance on the bank of the River Seine during the 2024 Olympics opening ceremonies, the artist attended a swimming event with Polansky, where she was introduced to French prime minister Gabriel Attal. People later confirmed that the couple had been secretly engaged for “several months” but had been keeping the news under wraps. Per the report, the pair are now planning their wedding.

In October she spoke more about the engagement to Jimmy Kimmel, telling him that Polansky had the ring in his backpack and popped the question when they were heading back to their room. “He didn’t propose to me at the top. We climbed up to the top and we looked around and took some photos and then we went back down,” Gaga said. “And we were just walking back to the room and talking and he said—it was very Michael, to ask me if he could ask me. He wanted to know if it was OK to propose before he proposed.”

According to Page Six, they get together sometime after Gaga ended her engagement to Christian Carino. At the time, the outlet’s source speculated that the pair have known each other “for a while” via tech billionaire Sean Parker’s social circle, pegging the start of their relationship to Parker’s birthday party in December 2019, but Gaga later revealed her mom set them up.
“My mom met him and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband,’ and I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!’ I could never have imagined that my mom…found the most perfect person for me?” she told Vogue in October 2024.
Gaga noted that they first connected at a party in 2019, after she spent the evening asking around for him. “He finally came over to me and we talked for three hours,” she said. “We had the most amazing conversation.”
In the same cover story, Polansky noted his version of events, telling writer Jonathan Van Meter that “he didn’t make it three steps into the party before someone told him that Lady Gaga was looking for him.”
Noted Polansky, “I didn’t know much about her and honestly wasn’t mühlet what to expect. I was struck immediately by her warmth and openness—she was so genuinely curious about what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.”
According to an interview with Good Morning America in March 2025, they had their first official date after one of her concerts in Las Vegas, where she was performing her dual residencies.
