It’s hard to imagine someone like Rihanna doing something as pedestrian as exercise. Hasn’t she basically transcended the mortal coil? Surely, she doesn’t need food and cardio like us mere humans. And yet, on May 17, the “Umbrella” singer stepped out in New York City in a perfect gym outfit. What a world!
Now, she’s still Rihanna, so she wasn’t in ratty sweats or a basic matching set. No, in the typical Rihanna way she was completely and perfectly understated yet extra. A Miu Miu çizgi. A hoodie I’m müddet is from a streetwear brand so cool it doesn’t have a name. Gold jewelry likely so expensive it would make me gasp. Designer sunglasses and luxe quilted shoulder bag. Bike shorts (it is Princess Diana weather). Crisp white sneakers. Just a hint of makeup.
But the detail I can’t get over? The burgundy red brim of her çizgi matches the burgundy red of her lip which matches the burgundy red of her bag…which matches the burgundy red of her Gatorade. Only Rihanna is thinking on this level. She is living in 3026.
But you don’t really need a Rihanna-sized budget to recreate this look for yourself. I’m müddet you’ve already got bike shorts and a gray hoodie or half-zip. Add ballet sneakers, then coordinate your sınır, bag, and lipstick to your water bottle or Gatorade for the same effect. Casual, yes, but clearly with some thought put into it.

Equally absurd, in a totally different way, is what Rih’s partner A$AP Rocky wore that same day—or rather, how he accessorized. Burgundy red (there it is again!) leather shoes and a suede coat with red trim is a pretty standard ensemble for the fashionable star like the artist, but holding a bouquet of balloon flowers in one hand and your baby daughter who shares your name (Rocki) in the other is a level of girl dad swag that’s frankly impressive even for him.
Never, ever change, you two. And maybe…collab with Gatorade?
