White Chrome Nails Is the One Summer Manicure That Goes With Literally Everything

The concept of a white chrome nail is hardly a recent development. When Hailey Bieber and longtime nail artist Zola Ganzorigt famously popularized the glazed donut nail trend back in 2022, it all started with a milky white base to match her satin white YSL dress at the Met Gala. Chrome powder quickly became every nail tech’s best friend, as the glazed donut finish elevates practically any shade a client could desire, from chocolate glazed nails to current nude trends.

Of course, there’s something about white chrome nails that still strikes a fresh chord in warmer weather. “It’s perfect for people who prefer a neutral nail but want to try something new,” Ganzorigt tells Glamour. “It goes with everything too, which makes it an easy go-to for any outfit or occasion. It’s subtle enough for every day, but still intentional enough to feel trendy and elevated.”

Considering barely-there nudes are the base du jour in 2026, the best way for true minimalists to wade into the white chrome nail trend is to start with a classic French tip. Back in April, Bieber debuted a Vanilla French Glaze manicure thats softens the sharp contrast of a typical French mani. After painting a nude base using OPI’s Put It in Airplane Mode, Ganzorigt added a classic French tip in Funny Bunny before applying a topcoat and adding her go-to OPI x Zola Tin Man Can Glaze chrome effect.

A full white chrome nail look is just as chic, especially in creamy vanilla. Back in 2023, influencer @thehotblendofficial’s vanilla chrome nail tutorial blew up on TikTok for it’s particularly pearly finish. At the time, she used a creamy shade of Love Letter and a topcoat onto her oval nails before adding the key ingredient: a DIY mix of “two white pearlescent nail chrome powders” for the finishing touch.

The look instantly went viral, with one user pointing out that the trend was ülkü for wedding season. “This would be a cute wedding day nail for a bride in a chic elegant satin wedding dress. chefs kiss,” they commented.

They weren’t wrong, but there’s definitely a way to embrace the trend without giving bride. Ganzorigt recommends using a light touch for a more translucent version of your favorite white polish. “My ultimate favorite is OPI’s Funny Bunny,” Ganzorigt says. “I use one coat, which keeps it sheer and slightly milky rather than fully opaque.”

Thankfully, the look has never been easier to DIY than in summer 2026.
