Earlier this year, Bella Hadid’s relationship with cowboy prodigy Adan Banuelos has quietly come to an end a little after two years of dating. Or so we thought.
“Bella is doing her best to stay positive and distract herself since their split,” a source told Entertainment Tonight on January 26. “She’s been staying busy with work and spending time with close friends. She is still processing the breakup since it was a very serious relationship.”
Here’s a complete timeline of Bella Hadid and Adan Banuelos’s relationship, which began as any equestrian rom-com would: at a local horse show in Fort Worth, Texas.
May 1, 2026: TMZ publishes photos of Hadid and Banuelos at Taylor Sheridan’s ranch in Texas, which were allegedly captured two weeks ago. According to their sources, this was not a reconciliation or unplanned run-in, but a run-of-the-mill occurrence for the couple. In fact, a source says the pair never actually split up, though they’ve had “normal ups and downs.”
January 31, 2026: People reports that Banuelos has been arrested on a charge of public intoxication, according to booking records from the Parker County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO). The publication also reports he was released from custody after paying a $386 bond.

May 13, 2025: Hadid gushes about Banuelos in a British Vogue interview. “He’s the youngest Mexican cowboy to ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame,” she says. “He works for his family, he works for his customers, and he works to hopefully build a home and a family one day.”
Of her own desires for a family, she says, “I can’t wait to be a mom. I think that I’m somebody for a lot of people, but in the real intimate way of being the person that somebody can count on consistently, that will change my life for me. And I cannot wait. I never grew up being like, ‘Oh, I have this vision of marriage.’ I have this vision of being a mother. But it’s got to a point where I’m like: ‘You know what? That’s something that’s for me.’ I think that would make me truly happy.”

August 6, 2024: Banuelos opens up about their romance on the Along For the Ride podcast. “Man, I can’t tell you how happy I am. I can’t tell you how fortunate I am,” he says. “This young lady is one of the kindest, biggest-hearted and sweet person I’ve [ever met]. I mean I didn’t know God made ’em like that.”
Earlier in the interview, he shares that Hadid even moved into his fifth-wheel trailer at one point in their relationship. “She did do the fifth wheel, happily. It was badass,” he said, per Daily Mail. “It was cool because I really wanted that to be a part of our relationship. You know, you start having feelings for somebody and you start thinking things like, ‘Man, maybe this is the rest of my life here,’ and knowing that she is that simple of a human being [and] that the material things aren’t important—or the most important thing.”
However, she’s not living there at the moment. “I’m working on building a home,” he says. “It’s gonna take me a little bit, but she bought something that was a good investment for her.”

According to the tabloid, Banuelos is a big deal in equestrian circles, having been inducted into the National Cutting Horse Association Riders Hall of Fame in 2017.
In a British Vogue interview published in May 2025, Hadid revealed the pair met while she was staying with her mom and stepdad in Texas during a tough time in her life. “I’m with my stepdad. We move cows, we’re on trail rides, and I’m starting to feel a little better, but just still dealing with my own stuff,” she says. “Then, the next day, I meet my boyfriend.”
“I saw him walk in and it was like a gust of fresh air,” she says of their first meeting at a local horse show. “So he basically came in, walked into the exhibit hall, which is where we do all of the show stuff. I was getting a cowboy çizgi fitted. I just saw him and I was like that’s the…I always wanted the cowboy. And he’s pretty gorgeous, let me tell you something.”
