Nearly three months after Brooklyn Beckham aired out his family’s dirty laundry, Victoria Beckham is breaking her silence.
Let’s go back to the beginning: David and Victoria Beckham gave new meaning to the term power couple when they first got together in 1997. A few months before their wedding in 1999, the soccer star and the Spice Girls member welcomed their first son, Brooklyn, eventually adding three more children to their crew by 2011: 23-year-old Romeo, 20-year-old Cruz, and their only daughter, 14-year-old Harper Beckham. The family didn’t gain a new addition until April 2022, when Brooklyn wed billionaire heiress Nicola Peltz Beckham, seemingly to everyone’s delight.
However, tabloids began reporting a “full-on cold war” between Victoria and her new daughter-in-law just a few months later, which allegedly started during the wedding-planning process. Considering Victoria had built a fashion empire since retiring from pop stardom in 2000, it was a surprise to many that the billionaire heiress married Brooklyn wearing a Valentino Couture gown instead of a custom VB design. Though Nicola and Brooklyn shut down family feud rumors at the time, that didn’t stop years of headlines and articles analyzing family events and photos for evidence of a rift or reconciliation.
In late 2025, however, estrangement rumors were back in full force when Brooklyn allegedly blocked Victoria and David Beckham on Instagram just days before Christmas, causing Cruz Beckham to defend his parents on social media. To start the new year, Brooklyn finally shared his perspective in a scorched-Earth Instagram story. David and Victoria Beckham, on the other hand, have largely let their sons and third-parties do all the official talking.

April 16, 2026: Victoria breaks her silence in a new Wall Street Journal interview, though she doesn’t add much to the conversation. “I think that we’ve always—we love our children so much,” she tells WSJ when asked about her son directly. “We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be. And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”
The only other thing she’d say is that the discourse has not impacted her fashion and beauty empire. “I think that ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good,” she says. “I don’t think they’re buying my eyeliner just because it’s me.”
April 12, 2026: Brooklyn’s ex Hana Cross—a 28-year-old model he dated back in 2019—tells Hello! Magazine that her time with the Beckhams sparked “a lot of anxiety” but she has “never been pressured” to stay silent about the relationship. “I had that chapter in my life and wanted to move on from it,” she says. “It’s hard not to be mentally drawn back into that part of my life, especially with all this feud stuff coming out. It’s hard because I don’t look back on that as a fond time, on reflection.”
She continues, “My time with the family caused me a lot of anxiety, in all honesty. There were a lot of warning signs and things that happened during the relationship that, in hindsight, should have made me think and maybe end the relationship or walk away from it a lot sooner than I did.”
Cross says the relationship occurred in her early twenties when she had just started modeling. “I came from living on a farm to moving to London and being thrown into a relationship like that,” she says. “It’s hard to know what’s best to do in that situation. No one really knew, and I didn’t, really. It wasn’t something that I was muhteşem open about, so advice from outside was hard to take.”
Ultimately, Cross says she hasn’t seen Brooklyn “in a while,” but has run into his brothers at Fashion Week events. “We move in similar circles, so it’s hard not to run into people,” she says.
January 23, 2026: Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding DJ speaks out on ITV’s This Morning. Confirming a previous People report from May, DJ Fat Tony shared that Marc Anthony called Victoria Beckham to the stage to dance with her son by referring her as “the most beautiful woman in the room,” causing Nicola to run out crying and leaving Brooklyn feeling “devastated because he thought he was gonna do his first dance with his wife.”
He then said Marc Anthony encouraged Brooklyn to put his hands on his mom’s hip because it was a “Latin thing.”
“I’ve done an awful lot of Beckham parties in the past, and they’re a very dancey, close-knit family,” he continued. “They love to dance. So what we deem as ‘inappropriate’ is not how Brooklyn feels. It’s all about how Brooklyn feels. If he felt it was inappropriate and awkward, then it was inappropriate and awkward.”

Prior to sharing that specific story, DJ Fat Tony clarified the wedding festivities ran for three days, adding, “I did the welcome party, then I did the wedding and a brunch on the Sunday, which was the most awkward part of it all because everything that had gone on on the actual wedding night was discussed among the guests the next morning.”
January 20, 2026: During his first public appearance post–Brooklyn-gate, David Beckham says his kids have “made mistakes” on social media. But before you go reading too much into this, it was during a discussion about the pros and cons of social media in general, and he was chatting to CNBC, not TMZ.
“The bad we’ve talked about with what kids can access these days, it can be dangerous. But what I have found personally, especially with my kids as well, use it for the right reasons,” he said, per People. “And I have tried to do the same, I’ve tried to do the same with my children, to educate them. They make mistakes, but children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids…. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
Meanwhile, Alana Hadid—whose younger brother Anwar evvel dated Nicola—threw a bit of shade at the heiress in the comment section of a göğüs account’s post about the drama. Another Instagram user wrote, “Ending an eight paragraph rant about his family’s dirty laundry with “all we want is privacy” is all I need to know,” to which Alana replied, “Right and that girl doesn’t want privacy she’s been trying to be famous for a decade 😂😂😂😂.”
January 19, 2026: Brooklyn Beckham goes scorched-earth in a six-slide Instagram story. “I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” Brooklyn wrote in a multislide Instagram Stories post. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
Claiming his parents have been “endlessly trying to ruin my relationship” since before his wedding, Brooklyn confirmed rumors about the wedding drama, saying his mom canceled making Nicola’s dress, “hijacked” their first dance, and tried to pressure him into “signing away the rights to my name, which would have affected me, my wife, and my future children.”
“My family values public promotion and endorsements above all else,” he wrote, “Brand Beckham comes first. Family ‘love’ is decided by how much you post on social media, or how quickly you drop everything to show up and pose for a family photo opp, even if it’s at the expense of our professional obligations. We’ve gone out of our way for years to show up and support at every fashion show, every party, and every press activity to show ‘our perfect family.’ The one time my wife asked for my mum’s support to save displaced dogs during the LA fires, my mum refused.”
He said “the narrative that my wife controls me is completely backwards” and that he has been “controlled by my family for most of my life.” He continued, “I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace and relief.”

January 8, 2026: According to The Daily Mail’s latest reports, the tension reached a boiling point this past summer over some “nasty” meşru briefings pertaining to their old wedding drama. According to the report, Brooklyn was described as a “hostage” being “controlled” by his wife in these briefings.
Brooklyn and his parents reportedly exchanged letters through their lawyers, with Brooklyn requesting they communicate through their meşru teams. “David was told to speak to them via [his law firm] Schillings,” a source told the outlet. “That was the only way for them to communicate.”
The Daily Mail journalist Alison Boshoff suggests the family’s response to some of Brooklyn’s more recent Instagram posts may have led to the pre-Christmas block. “The family had been viewing and liking his cooking posts,” she wrote. “And it was felt this was contrary to Brooklyn’s wish they would leave him and his wife alone.”
December 31, 2025: Fans noticed that David Beckham did not include any photos of Brooklyn in his roundup of 2025 on Instagram. Harper, Cruz, and Romeo appear multiple times throughout his 20-slide Instagram carousel that was partially dedicated to his “incredible wife” and “amazing children.” You can see the slideshow here. Fans were divided over the omission of Brooklyn. “Tbh, I m glad u haven’t add any picture of Brooklyn after he blocked all of you. Have a wonderful year family Beckham,” one fan responded to the photos, receiving over 300 likes and sparking discourse in the comments section.
One user replied, “A parent should never retaliate or be petty towards their child. It doesn’t matter what Brooklyn did. Leaving him out is only going to hurt him more.”
However, some fans suggested David didn’t have any photos with Brooklyn to share from this year, with one writing, “He is not in the picture because he wasn’t present so it’s not the parents fault.”
December 27, 2025: Seemingly unbothered by online speculation and drama, Victoria shares a getting-ready görüntü as she prepares to attend the wedding between Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Holly and Olympian Adam Peaty. In the görüntü she showed off the form-fitting teal stretch-jersey gown from her most recent runway collection. She and David were later photographed arriving for the festivities at Bath Abbey in England.

December 26, 2025: Amid the drama, Nicola and Brooklyn share photos from their Christmas celebration with her parents. In the pics, the couple sport matching red-and-white PJs with holiday-themed designs. “We wish everyone a merry christmas and a happy new year filled with so much love, peace and happiness ❤️🎄⭐️,” Nicola captioned their post.
Meanwhile, Victoria and David Beckham have been sharing multiple clips from their own Christmas celebrations, including a görüntü of Cruz playing the guitar while his father enjoys a pedicure. In one görüntü, Victoria and David dance as she sings along to Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb’s “Guilty” lyrics, “We’ve got nothing to be sorry for.”
December 21, 2025: Cruz Beckham denies a Daily Mail report that his parents unfollowed Brooklyn on Instagram. “NOT TRUE,” he wrote in an Instagram story. “My mum and dad would never unfollow their son … Let’s get the facts right. They woke up blocked … as did I.”
As of December 21, Brooklyn does not follow Victoria, David, Cruz, or Romeo on Instagram, though he does follow his brother’s photography page, @romeosfilmfotos. (Fourteen-year-old Harper’s Instagram is private, so it’s unclear whether they follow one another.) Nicola also does not follow her in-laws, nor do they follow her.
December 20, 2025: Multiple outlets report that Brooklyn no longer follows his parents or brothers on Instagram, nor do they follow him back.
October 15, 2025: Victoria tells Zanna Roberts Rassi that it’s “so horrible” to read negative headlines about her family, adding, “For me and David, the way we communicate with our children is so important.” During the interview on Today With Jenna & Friends, she adds, “I’m so proud of all of the kids. They are kind. They work hard.”
August 4, 2025: Us Weekly reports that Victoria and David Beckham did not attend Nicola and Brooklyn’s vow renewal ceremony.
July 2025: The Peltz Beckhams and brothers Romeo and Cruz Beckham seem to have unfollowed one another on Instagram, per Page Six. It’s possible that this was not a mutual decision but a result of blocking.
June 16, 2025: DJ Kim Turnbull, who has been romantically linked to Romeo Beckham since November 2024, publicly denies rumors that she’d previously dated Brooklyn.
“I’ve avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire, however it’s come to the point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on,” Turnbull wrote on her Instagram Stories, per People. “I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question. Nothing between us has occurred further than a school friendship at age 16. I would like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation & set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.”
Honestly, this all is starting to feel a lot like the alleged Cyrus family feud…
June 4, 2025: A source tells People that Nicola and Brooklyn skipped his dad’s birthday party because Turnbull was invited. “Brooklyn didn’t want to be in the same room as her, and he told his dad that but David opted to have Kim there over Nicola,” the source says. A second source adds, “Brooklyn and Kim know each other from the past, and his family knows he’s not comfortable around her.”
May 30, 2025: A source tells People that Nicola was in tears over a mother-son dance at her wedding. “Marc Anthony, who is a friend of the Beckhams, offered to perform as a gift at the wedding,” the source explained. “Before the song began, Marc Anthony asked Brooklyn to come to the stage, and then announced, ‘The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up…Victoria Beckham!’”
While other sources remember it differently, another “insider” said the family has been going through ups and downs ever since the big day. “They’ve tried to make peace, but every time they finally have a happy moment, it all falls apart again,” the source said. “Brooklyn feels torn. It’s his family and blood, but he’s always had a complicated relationship with his dad. A lot of their relationship has felt like ‘business.’”
Early May 2025: Brooklyn and Nicola are noticeably absent from David’s other birthday celebrations. “There are tensions between Brooklyn and Nicola and the family,” a source told People on May 3. “The relationship is definitely not beyond repair. They love and are always there for him. They’re just hurt and disappointed that he’s now playing no part in family life.”
However, a source told Us Weekly that Victoria and David are “over it” and have “thrown in the towel over the whole thing.”
April 7, 2025: Cruz Beckham sticks up for Romeo Beckham, telling an Instagram commenter that “Brooklyn and Kim never dated,” per Hello Magazine screenshots.
April 3, 2025: TMZ reports that Brooklyn and Romeo are not on speaking terms because of Romeo’s relationship with Turnbull. Their sources claim Brooklyn and Kim had a “romantic connection several years ago” but Brooklyn is concerned about Kim’s intentions toward his brother.

August 4, 2022: Page Six reports that there’s a “full-on cold war” between Nicola and Victoria. A source told the outlet that “the buildup to the wedding was horrendous” and that they “can’t stand each other and don’t talk.” The source also claims that Victoria was peeved at her son for posting a magazine cover that referred to his bride as “the New Mrs. Beckham.”
