“That’s so true” is what we can finally say about the rumors about musician Gracie Abrams and actor Paul Mescal. Two years in, they’re going strong and getting way more public with their displays of affection.
Before dating Abrams, Mescal was in a relationship with another beloved musician, Phoebe Bridgers. The pair split in 2023 and she went on to date comedian Bo Burnham. And you’d be forgiven for thinking Mescal was evvel with his Normal People co-star Daisy Edgar-Jones—they didn’t date, but they are BFFs with insane chemistry. Before Mescal, Abrams was with musician Hayes Bradley.

February 22, 2026: Now this is what we call a red carpet debut. After testing the waters with a joint appearance earlier in the week, the pair ups the PDA at the 2026 BAFTA Awards.

February 18, 2026: Abrams and Mescal technically make their red carpet debut at a London screening of Paul McCartney: Man on The Run, though it seems more like a test run. Both Abrams and Mescal were dressed casually in mismatched baseball caps as they smiled for the cameras. You can see the photos here.
February 2, 2026: To celebrate the Irish actor’s 30th birthday, Abrams posts a massive dump of intimate photos on Instagram, writing: “My whole heart!!!!!!!!! I love February 2… Happy birthday❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️I love you both more than words could ever describe. Thank you for making everything better,” (a friend of hers also shares the birthday).

2025
September 2025: Mescal appears on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. When the interviewer asks why the couple decided to officially confirm their relationship, he says, “I don’t know how to answer that…I actually do have an answer, but everything to do with that is deeply precious to me and I don’t want to.…This isn’t…I don’t really…umm…I want to protect those things fundamentally.”
June 2025: Abrams plays to a massive crowd at Glastonbury that includes Mescal’s Normal People costar and BFF Daisy Edgar-Jones and her boyfriend, Ben Seed. Later that same weekend, Abrams uploaded görüntü of herself to Instagram Stories sitting on Mescal’s shoulders listening to Olivia Rodrigo cover The Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love.”
April 2025: Sources reveal that Abrams caught Mescal onstage in A Streetcar Named Desire, telling People, “Despite their busy schedules, the couple is making each other a priority.…There’s no denying the strong chemistry between Paul and Gracie, true lovebirds.”
2024
November 2024: It sorta almost kinda looks like they go red-carpet official? Abrams is on Mescal’s arm at the after-party for the premiere of Gladiator II in Los Angeles (see the pic here).
October 2024: An insider spots Mescal at Gracie Abrams’s Radio City Music Hall concert, per People.
August 2024: “They’ve been hooking up and it’s still early stages,” a source tells People.
June 2024: TMZ published photos of the pair at dinner in London and suggests that they may be on a date.
