While Miley Cyrus is figuring out how to celebrate 20 years of Hannah Montana, at least one millennial icon will give the people exactly what they want: Hilary Duff will release a new album. And perform live. And document it all in a new series from the director of The Eras Tour movie.

All about Hilary Duff’s new album
Okay, this we actually kinda saw coming because she’s been teasing a return to music for a while. When looking back at her (iconic! Life-changing!) 2003 album, Metamorphosis, on August 27, she even wrote in the Instagram caption, “To be continued…”
Now, Duff’s back in the studio. On September 9, she posted pictures of herself and her husband (also a musician) in a recording booth and wrote, “new music … or something 🪩✨🍒,” which she cross-posted with a new account, @hilaryduff.hq, seemingly created for the purpose of launching this new project. In one of the pictures, she seems to be looking at lyrics on her phone. Her album is reportedly part of a new deal with Atlantic Records.

What we know of the documentary
A synopsis of the project shared with Glamour revealed that Sam Wrench (the British director’s credits include A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour) will helm a multipart series about the actor as she returns to music: “Embracing the ups, downs, and everything in between, fans will ride shotgun as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals, and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade.”
The series will include “vérité footage, stylized interviews, performances, and videos from her personal archive.”

But like.… We just don’t know where or anything about it. She embraced her weird dance moves becoming a göğüs, at least!
When do her album and show come out?
TBD. But in the meantime, we’ll be listening to “Come Clean” from Metamorphosis on our portable CD players with unironic wire headphones.
