Summer of silver? That’s the impression we got from the AMAs 2026 red carpet, where metallic grays and whites were all the rage. Silver and other icy accents are just as fun and excessive as gold or pearls—but in 2026, they have an extra cool factor that can’t be denied.
And on the AMAs 2026 red carpet, which took place on May 25, stars wore silver every which way. Just take a look at Hilary Duff rocking a space-age silver dress, for example. It’s a little bit ’70s disco fun and is giving me major inspiration about how to do a going-out top or dress in 2026.
Tinashe wore a stack of silver and diamond jewelry from her collarbone all the way up her neck, giving new meaning to the phrase “Ice, ice, baby.” To do this trend yourself, all you really have to do is swap your gold chain necklaces for silver.
Speaking of ice, figure skater Alysa Liu is indelibly linked with gold ever since she came in first at the Olympics. Even so, she opted for slightly more muted silver accessories on the red carpet. They’re fitting with her edgy style.
Queen Latifah took the trend in an entirely different direction, wearing a floor-length gray coat over her white dress. While I wouldn’t don such a winter look in summer, I am motivated to try some more silver and cream combos in my wardrobe.
Nikki Glaser wore a silver cocktail gown as well. Similar to Duff’s cool-toned look, it nicely offsets her complexion. And as you can see, below, the color looks especially good with a soft pink blush and lip.
Speaking of beauty, last night influencer Haylee Baylee brought back the silver eye makeup trend that was most popular at the turn of the millennium. And it has me wondering, Why did it ever leave? It really is that good.
Whether it’s a little silver or a lot, I’ll be digging out whatever I have and trying it on.
